Commercial Electrician in Raytown, MO
One site, three jobs: the ceiling, the exits and the lot.
Our Raytown work in 2026 was one site, done in three jobs: high-bay LED lighting inside, exit signs, and a light pole added to the parking lot. It is a fair picture of how one lighting job tends to lead to the next once somebody is looking: the ceiling, the things an inspector checks, and the dark corner of the lot everybody has been parking around.

What we did in Raytown
Finished between August and early October 2026. We describe the work and the town; we do not name the customer.
- High-bay LED lighting, exit signs, and a light pole added to the parking lot, all at one site.
Inside: the high-bays
High-bay fixtures light tall, open space. The older ones are metal halide — slow to start, dimming as they age, and needing a lift for every lamp. LED high-bays go up on the same mounting points, start instantly and can be switched by sensors. Our high-bay lighting page has the detail.
The exits
Exit signs are the fixtures nobody thinks about until an inspection or a power cut. They have to be lit all the time and stay lit on battery or an emergency circuit when the power fails — which is why a sign that has gone dim, or whose battery no longer holds, is worth replacing before somebody else finds it.
Outside: a new pole
Adding a pole to a lot that is already paved means a concrete base, an underground feed from a circuit with room on it, and a position chosen to fill the dark patch. Our parking lot lighting page covers poles, wall packs and the photocells and time clocks that switch them.

FAQ
Questions from Raytown
Can you add a light pole to a parking lot that is already paved?
Yes — we added one at a Raytown site in 2026. A new pole needs a base, an underground feed from a circuit with room on it, and a spot that fills the dark patch in the lot rather than doubling a pool of light that is already there.
Do exit signs have to stay lit when the power goes out?
Yes. An exit sign is life-safety equipment: it has to stay lit on its battery or emergency circuit when the normal power fails, and it is one of the things an inspector checks.
What replaces old high-bay fixtures in a tall space?
LED high-bays, usually on the same mounting points. They start instantly, so they can be switched off and on with occupancy sensors, which older metal halide lamps cannot do. We put in high-bay LED lighting at a Raytown site in 2026.
