Where We Work

The Kansas City metro for residential. Wherever the job is for commercial.

Our home base is in Grandview, and our trucks cover the greater Kansas City metro on both the Missouri and Kansas sides. That is where our residential work lives. For commercial work we travel — the list below is where we are every week, not the edge of what we will take on.

Commercial

We travel for commercial work.

The city list above is our residential area. Commercial work is not bounded by it — outside this list, tell us about it anyway: chat with Watt, or call (816) 730-9100. We travel for the right job.

For commercial work we travel. Between August and early October 2026 that meant a grocery store project for a general contractor in Manhattan, KS; LED retrofits for churches in Emporia, Silver Lake (with the Evergy rebate filed) and Bonner Springs; LED lighting at an industrial plant in Topeka; and LED lighting and follow-up wiring at city hall in Gardner, KS.

Town pages

The towns where we can point to the work.

A town gets a page of its own when there is something specific to say about it — our own office, a project we can name, or the jobs we finished there. Each of these is built on that:

Work we can point to

Projects, by town.

The rest of the list above is covered all the same.

Across the state line

What changes from one side to the other.

Two practical things. Permits and inspections are handled by the city or county the building is in, and the rules differ between them — so we find out what your jurisdiction wants before the work starts, wherever in the metro that is.

Utility programs differ too. As of October 5, 2026, Evergy lists business lighting incentives for Kansas-side accounts only, and its Missouri program funding for the current period is committed, with a waitlist. The Evergy rebate guide has the details, dated and linked to Evergy's own pages.
